FAQ'S:

How is transportation working for this event?

Chapters are responsible for coordinating transportation. Transportation is not included in the registration price.

What time is the convention starting and ending?

The convention opens at Beth Israel in Vancouver at 4:30 PM on Friday, March 10.

Anyone not participating in the Leadership Day (ending their portion of the convention on Monday afternoon) will be either be dropped at the airport at 11:15 PM or can be picked up at Beth Tikvah in Richmond at 11:00 AM.

Anyone staying for the entirety of the convention (ending Tuesday afternoon) will either be dropped at the airport at 11:15 PM or can be picked up at Beth Israel in Vancouver at 10:50 AM. 

There will be transportation from the airport to Beth Israel on the Friday as well as transportation back to the airport on both the Monday and the Tuesday. 

What is the price for this event?

For the Four-Night Convention (March 10-March 14) - This highly subsidized convention (original price of $710 CAD) has an early bird price of $499 CAD for those who register before February 3, and a regular price of $549 CAD for those who register between February 3 and February 24.

For the Three-Night Convention, Without Leadership Day (March 10-March 13) - This highly subsidized convention (original price of $610 CAD) has an early bird price of $399 CAD for those who register before February 3, and a regular price of $449 CAD for those who register between February 3 and February 24. 

 

If you are a Toronto Public School Student in Grade 9/10 - for the Four-Night Convention (March 10-March 14) - Toronto UJA Federation is generously sponsoring your trip - if you fill out the Toronto March Break application, you can participate in this convention for the price of $299 CAD for those who register before February 3, and a regular price of $324 CAD for those who register between February 3 and February 24. 

Transportation is not included in these costs. Regional scholarship money is available to help offset the cost of the program as well as helping offset the cost of transportation. Please contact your synagogue and your regional staff person (Sylvie Moscovitz for ECRUSY and Danit Rothstein for Pinwheel) for more information about scholarships.

Will I be volunteering and will I earn volunteer hours?

Participants in the entire convention including leadership day will earn at least 6 volunteer hours, and participants in the Friday-Monday option will earn approximately 3 volunteer hours. 

 

Where are we staying?

On the Friday night, we are sleeping at Beth Israel, and on the Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights, we are staying at the Best Western Plus Sands Hotel. Our friends from Vancouver will be providing sleeping bags and pillows for all those who travel by plane for the Friday night portion of the convention.
