Scholarship Information

No USYer should be excluded due to finances!

We understand that the cost of conventions can sometimes be difficult to afford, especially for multiple children. Most synagogues offer money to their teens for USY events. Did you know that ECRUSY also has a scholarship fund for regional events? Just download this form and turn it in with your registration.

Scholarship forms are due by the first registration deadline.

Merit and Incentive Scholarships

The following scholarships are based solely on merit or incentive:

  • First Timers – Any first-time attendee to an ECRUSY regional convention may request $50 off the price of convention. Please write “First-time Convention Attendee Reduction” on the front page of the application.
  • Siblings – There is a 10% sibling discount for ECRUSY Regional Convention. Make sure to fill in the appropriate space on the application.
  • Merit Scholarship for USY Summer Programs and Nativ – The Sharon Cole Merit Scholarship for USY Summer Programs and Nativ is offered to one ECRUSY member attending a USY summer program or Nativ, USY’s year-long college leadership program in Israel.

From the Scholarship Committee

With the exception of the scholarships offered below, ECRUSY scholarships are based on financial need. In order to be considered for a need-based scholarship, you must have first applied to your synagogue for funding. Each synagogue has funding through their chapter or rabbi.

All application questions must be answered in full to be considered.

Applications must be received by the earliest registration deadline. No late applications will be considered.

Thank you.

The ECRUSY scholarship fund is supported by donations from alumni and families.

Do you have a special event coming up, a graduation or a birthday? Why not celebrate the moment with a donation to the scholarship fund? Contact Rhonda at the ECRUSY office to make your donation.
