Sarah Goldberg is spending her summer on Eastern Europe/Israel Pilgrimage. Here's a letter from Sarah with just a bit about her trip.

hello everyone,
i had a chance to send an email and i just wanted to tell everyone that i say hi.

Here is a sum up of everything that I have done: I first started in Prague (aka Praha in Chezk). There the group and I went to see lots of cemetarys and gettos. The thing about the gettos though is that they dont feel like you are in one because all the buildings are new. Later in Poland we had our first sad experience was when we went to Ponar, a forrest where Jews were brought just for the purpose of slaughter. There everyone cried. What made it really emotional is that as we were talking about where the train was for the convinance of the Nazis, a train passed by. We then all said Kaddish and moved on. Then we went to Trablinka where it was pouring rain. This made it hard for all of us. After that came Midonik, shtetles that were wiped out and Achwitz and more. One of the more moving experiances in the shtetle was that when we went into the beautiful shul we all sang niguns to bring back the Jewish feel of the community.

Finally, the fun part. Israel has been an amazing few days. We had HaEvent (colour war) and my group won 3rd place. All the ecrusyers took a picture together and it was cute. This pasts weekend was free weekend so I hung out with my cousin and a friend from the trip. Sorry I dont have much to report right now. I hope that you all are having just as great as a summer as I am.

Love,
Sarah Goldberg
